The jazz­open Stuttgart provides treats for jazz fans and many other music lovers. The extraordinary young pianist Lang Lang, who has already captivated sold-out audiences on major stages of the biggest cities of the world, also played to mass crowds at the jazzopen.

Visitors stream into the capital from near and far to enjoy the International Organ Summer. The Stuttgart Culture Summer shines with top-class performances. The Festival of Cultures reveals the nature of Swabian cosmopolitanism. Artists from all over the world come to compete in the International Singing Competition. The SWR New Pop Festival in Baden-Baden is known far beyond the city and state borders. An entire city rolls out the red carpet for one and all. The Schwetzinger Festspiele has been presenting classical music in a modern international framework since May 1952, and continues to attract music lovers from all regions. The Classic Open Air Concert with final fireworks draws aahs and oohs from the audience on the castle grounds at the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele. This festival, founded in 1932, is one of the oldest German festivals. The annual open-air festival in Schwäbisch Hall, founded in 1925, also boasts a long tradition.

Here artistic excellence and top entertainment presented on the broad steps in front of St. Michael and in the Haller Globe Theatre delight the crowds. Classics from world literature, musicals and modern public theatre freely adapted from Shakespeare make the summer a theatre festival for everyone. The list of popular events cannot exclude the well-known staging of world literature: the Burgfestspiele performed in the castle fortress of Jagsthausen with “Götz von Berlichingen” based on the play by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. And enthusiastic guests marvel at the fabulous operatic productions staged at night on the edge of our own “Great Lake” of Constance during the Seenachtsfest.
